Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum Presents ‘Memories of St. John’s: The First 200 Years’

Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum  proudly presents the exhibition, “Memories of St. John’s:  The First 200 Years” running from March 12 until October 22, 2016.

St. John’s Anglican Church of Ancaster celebrates its 200th Anniversary in 2016.  This exhibition explores two centuries worth of memories associated with one of Ancaster’s oldest churches.

The historical connection between Fieldcote and St. John’s is strong.   Doris Holbrook Farmer bequeathed Fieldcote to the people of Ancaster.   She also provided in her will for St. John’s, including donating funds for one of the stained glass windows.  Seven generations of  the Farmer family have been parishioners with descendants still active in the church today.

A pictorial exhibit will take us from the origins of the Parish up to present time, including today’s mission and ministries. Highlights will include the relationship between the church, the Town of Ancaster, some of its past notable residents, and the history of Ontario.
